In:tensions

To me a body is a perpetually evolving form. To freeze it seems strange, and I avoid doing it.At the same time, this γραφή (the greek for drawing or creating lines, never used as “writing”) is a stopped motion, otherwise, quite naturally, we’d see moving pictures - as we do, in fact, but it’s another art form.

Those images are part of my work in thinking about a body that’s still, but far from calm. It’s caught in the tension of the before/after/middle of a movement. It’s twisted and stretched to show it’s freedom, it’s capabilities, it’s eternal changes.

Those are images “in tension”, drawing lines & by those lines re:presenting bodies that won’t model anything - they already are. My images just add some layers, perspectives and light to that ‘being’.
