About the artist:

I’m a rarity among Los Angeles based photographers in that I am a native. I’ve always been fascinated with photography from a young age as it showed a view into a new world and time. I grew up in the age of analog shooting with my first camera (a Fisher Price 110 format), progressing to a Polaroid and eventually getting my first 35mm SLR at 15.

I have never formally studied Photography, but read voraciously and experimented heavily both shooting and in the darkroom.

My photography took a backseat for many years to my filmmaking (formal training that I later applied to my still work) and after years of working in documentary, commercial and narrative films I got hit with the bug of shooting again when I got my first DSLR.

Shortly after I decided to pursue my life long interest of exploring the marvel of the human form. My approach is to bring all the elements of my cinematic experience to create an image that is both dreamlike and honest. I am still busy working as a filmmaker, but enjoy experimenting and stretching my boundaries in the still formats.
