Fabrizio Quagliuso & Mia Liberum
Fabrizio is a London based photographer;
Mia Liberum is a London based freelance art model.
These are annotations/fragments from a project I am currently working on: 'In-between' (temporary title), an intimate personal project where I explore the edge between dreams and reality.
This story features Mia Liberum as the main character. Mia is an extraordinary and creative model, a wonderful person and by working together on this project we've developed a great friendship.
What if you slept? And what if, in your sleep, you dreamed?
And what if, in your dream, you went to Heaven and plucked a strange and beautiful flower?
And what if, when you awoke, you held the flower in your hand?
Ah, what then?
“Photography is not for the satisfaction of others. Neither is it some kind of responsibility or mission. It is a mean to fill a personal void.”
I’m an Italian photographer based in London (UK).
I was born in Naples (Italy) in 1970. After graduating from Engineering university, I moved to the UK where I currently live.
Self-taught and greatly inspired by one of my uncles who was professional photographer, I’ve have always been passionate about visual arts and in the last ten years I have completely devoted myself to photography.
Currently I’m focusing my creative energy on a series of personal projects where I’m putting together various types of images - such as portraits and scenes with family, friends or chance encounters, pictures of indoor and outdoor spaces, candid and documentary photographs, fragments from dreams and from daily experiences - with the aim to create layered, deep and introspective stories.
I’m also a founding member of the Italian street photography collective SPontanea - http://spontanea.org/
Hello, I'm Mia, a London based freelance model.
My passion for modelling began through collaborating with an art nude photographer at my university. Since then I have worked internationally on many hundreds of projects.
I view photography as a form of magic, allowing us to capture moments eternally or distort reality to create cinematic worlds and "otherworldly" atmospheres. I enjoy taking my own photos as well, which means I have an appreciation for the technical side of photography.
Until recently I worked solely as an anonymous art nude model, therefore a significant portion of my work is nude with my face hidden. I still enjoy exploring the mystery of anonymity in my work, and the physical expressiveness that posing nude allows, but I enjoy modelling fashion and posing in other genres as well.
